Free Geek Vancouver
WE REGRET TO ADVISE THAT THE FREE GEEK VANCOUVER STORE IS NOW CLOSED AND WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING DONATIONS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Dear Supporters, Volunteers and Geeks,

For the past 16 years Free Geek Vancouver has delivered a range of extremely worthwhile services to our community, provided staff and volunteers with valuable computer and operational skills and built a very supportive community of staff and volunteers.
It is therefore with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closing of Free Geek Vancouver’s operations effective November 30th, 2022.
This decision has not been taken lightly and there are many contributing factors which have influenced our staff and board to come to this conclusion. Fundamentally, we are unable to generate enough revenue to maintain the business and deliver on our social mission.
We are deeply saddened to have to deliver this news. Through our work, we have provided the community with low cost access to acquire computers and, in doing so, have extended the life of tonnes of computer hardware, avoiding disposal in landfills and potential damage to our environment. Our Free Geek Vancouver community can be very proud of the work it has done and the positive environmental and social impact it has had. We want to thank all of our supporters, staff, volunteers and friends who have helped us make a difference over the years! We could not have done it without you!
Your Free Geek Vancouver team.
